MUSICAL Director

The Coppell Community Chorale is now accepting applications for the position of Musical Director for our primary ensemble. This mixed-voice, non-auditioned chorus primarily performs a repertoire including contemporary, popular, and Broadway-style selections and provides the opportunity for singers of all abilities to learn and perform under the direction of professional musicians.

We are looking for an experienced and passionate leader to inspire and guide our talented group of about 70 singers. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in choral conducting, a commitment to artistic excellence, and the ability to foster a sense of community and collaboration among our members.

This is a contract (1099), paid, part-time position that reports to the Coppell Community Chorale Board of Directors and directly to the Chorale’s Artistic Director.

  • Develop rehearsal plans, communicate musical goals, and break down pieces for the chorale to learn and rehearse.

  • Conduct rehearsals with attention to musical detail, vocal technique, and interpretation, preparing the Chorale for upcoming performances.

  • Direct Chorale members during public performances, ensuring high-quality musical execution and effective engagement with the audience.

  • Assist with selecting appropriate music, in collaboration with the Artistic Director, for each concert season.
